When I was a teenager you took me into your house and made me feel welcome and loved. Despite me always being there, and being a girl amongst the many boys who were always over to watch the footy games you never made me feel I wasnt welcome. As an only child whose parents were split I was lonely, and my friends were my family. You become a second mum to me, you fed me, argued with me, shouted at me and scared me lol And my god I adored you and your boys.
From that summer onwards I always knew when I got married and had kids I wanted at least 2 like you, if not more. And I wanted my house to be like your home. Crazy, loud, busy, and full of noise and laughter. I wanted Sunday dinners after watching football games and screaming at the tv, I wanted chilled glasses of wine as I looked around happy at all the love and laughter around me. You have no idea what an impact you had on me and my life.
Sadly I had an only child, but our house is loud, and crazy and yes we scream at the footy on the TV. You would have loved seeing me and my boy watching the England womens final, it was like those summers back in the late 80s/early 90s all over again.
Times change, and life moves so very fast, but I will always remember you as the MOST amazing funny wicked woman who I admired so very much. I am truly sorry to hear of your passing, and my heart goes out to your 3 boys (and the rest of your loved ones)
When its my turn make sure the wine is ready, we have a lot to catch up on
All My Love
